This Is Not What Reform Was Meant to Be

Cancelled Meetings, Harassment, and a Shadow Leadership

Reform Oldham has almost 2,000 fully paid-up members. More than any other political party in the town, and more than many branches elsewhere in the country.

These people are not troublemakers. They are neighbours, friends, and ordinary citizens who care deeply about where they live. They joined Reform because they believed it could be different. They joined Reform because it promised to be different.

Right now, they deserve answers. In recent weeks, members have witnessed:

  • The Special General Meeting, where members could have elected their own committee, cancelled without explanation.
  • Attempts to expel members simply for applying to stand for committee roles or asking questions at meetings.
  • Police contacts used to threaten and smear members who demanded accountability.
  • Threats to use Reform lawyers against supporters who refused to stay silent.
  • Rule changes designed to protect the existing power structure.
  • Complaints ignored by Reform HQ, even when based on genuine concerns.
  • Moves to fix candidate selection for the 2026 council elections before members had any say.
  • Serving councillors blocked from joining Reform and representing the party locally.
  • The TikTok resignation of interim chair Paul Errock instead of a formal notice to members.
  • The appointment of Paul Robinson, who had just resigned as Treasurer, as the new 'interim' chair.

The SGM being delayed indefinitely until HQ “gets a grip” on Oldham might make sense. If not for what happened next.

Following his resignation, Errock has continued to attend meetings and act as a shadow chairman. The power behind the power. He has appointed new people to the committee despite no longer holding the role, including an individual who failed candidate vetting. My information is that Errock himself failed vetting.

The latest committee member being discussed in Oldham Reform is appointing a child as Campaign Manager. I am not joking.

And if you want proof that Reform Oldham has been hijacked, look at the Facebook page thousands joined believing it was the official Reform Oldham page. Errock has removed the official Reform branding and changed its name. Ask him if he will hand it back to the party now he is no longer chair.

I am not here to criticise or demonise for the sake of it. But people I personally encouraged to join Reform have contacted me distraught. They have written to Reform HQ and been ignored. I have contacted officials whose role is to protect local branches from being taken over this way. Not one has responded.

This cannot continue. People have put their faith in Reform in Oldham. That’s why I am calling for a member-led meeting to be held immediately, where leadership must answer these allegations directly to the people they claim to represent.

This is not about attacking Reform as a party. It is about ensuring Oldham gets the movement it was promised, so we can remove Labour from power and stand up to the Pakistani sectarians and Islamists who have treated our town as their fiefdom for too long.

Oldham knows all about false promises of honesty, openness, and transparency. Reform is our last hope.

I now publicly plead with Dan Barker and Adam Bounds to intervene in Oldham and rescue this branch from what is becoming a dictatorship. I do not believe anyone with any desire to see Reform succeed can, under any circumstances, support what is currently taking place in Oldham.
