THE NATIONAL INQUIRY CANNOT SAY WHAT HAPPENED, WHO ALLOWED IT OR WHY
Last Friday, the Grooming Gang National Inquiry sneaked out its first newsletter. You can read it here;
Fourteen months after Starmer was forced to announce it, this is how the Inquiry describes its purpose.
"The Inquiry is laser-focused on finding answers to the question of why this was allowed to happen, and continue to happen, and ensuring it cannot be allowed to happen in the future."
What was allowed to happen? The National Inquiry will not say. Maybe they need reminding of what they are actually inquiring into?
Little White girls were drugged, raped and trafficked by organised networks of predominantly Pakistani men. Those responsible for protecting children knew what was taking place and allowed it to continue. When others spoke out, they were demonised as racists, and when the authorities were finally forced to investigate, they covered up what took place.
In two thousand words the Inquiry does not once come anywhere near saying what took place. They call it "this".
Next. Who 'allowed' 'this' what to 'happen'? "Allowed" appears twice in that sentence, "happen" three times, and not once is a single name attached.
The politicians who took the votes have names and political parties they belong to. The police commanders who closed the operations have names. The council officers who buried the reports have names. The reporters and media outlets that helped hide what was taking place have names. The communities the men come from have names. The cultural, religious and social conditions have names. They all have names
We get no names from the national inquiry. Not even the names of the groups that the 'who' belong to.
As for the question of why was this allowed to happen? We all know why. So does the national inquiry. They dare not reference any of this.
- Because the children were traded for votes. The men belonged to networks that delivered elections and everyone who mattered knew it.
- Because a commitment to multiculturalism meant maintaining community relations mattered more than the screams of little girls.
- Because race relations and community cohesion policies turned looking away into a funded programme, with budgets, officers and awards for the people who kept the peace.
The Inquiry cannot answer its own question without naming that bargain, and it will not. It dare not.
I know all about cover ups. Fundamental to every cover up is the language it uses. Language that names no crime, no perpetrator and no decision protects everyone who took a decision.
"This was allowed to happen" is not a sentence written for survivors. It is a sentence written by people describing something they intend to survive.

Having helped force the national inquiry, I now scrutinise every word this Inquiry publishes. We all know, left to it's own devices, the National Inquiry will be a cover up. What I hope can be achieved through my analysis, with your support in amplifying me, is to limit the cover up and force from the National Inquiry at least some of the truths it was designed to bury.
