The Breaking of Brand Burnham

This is about power, protection, and a scandal that refuses to stay buried.

At the centre of it is Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, an establishment favourite, and a man widely understood to harbour ambitions for the highest office in the country. What is now under scrutiny is his relationship to one of the gravest failures in modern British history, the industrial scale grooming and gang rape of children.

My work deals in record, not rumour. Not anonymous briefings. Not inference. Documented actions. Public statements. Decisions taken while little White girls were abandoned and Pakistani men walked free. Reports suppressed. Timelines managed. Reviews commissioned that produced headlines instead of accountability.

As this scandal grows, the Mayor has openly attacked me. But facts do not disappear just because those in power would prefer you to stop asking questions.

Andy Burnham can repeat the claim that I 'regularly make misleading allegations' as often as he likes. He will not scare me away. Focus on what he does not say. He does not call me a liar. He does not specify a single claim I have made about his role in the cover up that is false. He dare not.

Equally telling is this. Despite being rattled enough to respond publicly, not a single mainstream media outlet has touched the story. That silence is not accidental. It is part of the same protection racket. Burnham is their poster boy. They need to protect him at all costs.

Politicians did not wake up one day and decide to do the right thing. Journalists did not suddenly decide this is newsworthy. We are not where we are because of them. We will not get where we need to be if we leave it to the very same people that were part of the cover up to deliver justice.
