WHEN A MOTHER BEGGED THE PRIME MINISTER TO SAVE HER DAUGHTER
THE MOTHER WROTE TO THE POLICE, SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE PRIME MINISTER. HER DAUGHTER WAS LEFT BLEEDING ON THE MOORS. NOW THE POLITICIANS WHO PROMISED TO EXPOSE THE COVER-UP WON'T EVEN CALL A COUNCIL VOTE.

A MOTHER BEGGED FOR HELP. HER DAUGHTER WAS LEFT BLEEDING ON THE MOORS.
A mother in Huddersfield called West Yorkshire Police two or three times a week because her daughter kept going missing, wrote to social services, went in and spoke to them herself, and when her daughter was coming home looking as though she had been drugged and none of it had stopped, wrote to the Prime Minister. Her words were read to Leeds Crown Court on 1 November 2018 by the judge, Simon Phillips QC, as he sentenced four of the men. "I would lay awake at night and wonder if she was dead."

The court called her daughter Girl O. In June 2009 a Huddersfield taxi driver called Mohammed Imran Ibrar drove her to Oldham. He demanded oral sex on the way and punched her in the face, again and again, when she refused. He left her on the moors above Oldham in the middle of the night, covered in blood, to flag down a car. He was given just three years for his crime. On 13 April 2023 he was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court to five years for raping and sexually assaulting another girl.
Nobody has ever said what happened to her letter. No reply has been found.
KIRKLEES COUNCIL KNEW GIRLS WERE BEING EXPLOITED. IT DID NOTHING.
Kirklees Council knew. Its own review, carried out by Dr Mark Peel, the former professor of social work at Leicester University, and published in June 2019, found that 15 of the 22 young women who gave evidence at the trials were known to its children's services while they were being raped.
In two of those cases the council held what Peel called direct intelligence of child sexual exploitation.
In one of the cases a Kirklees social worker had written down that the girl was getting into cars with Asian men for drugs, alcohol and sexual exploitation. They had done nothing beyond writing it down.

Peel's finding was that no preventative safeguarding action was taken and that an opportunity to break the ring had been lost. The council had the rape of a child in its own notes, and nothing was done to get her out of those cars.

Peel had an excuse ready for the 13 other girls whose files said nothing about exploitation. Social workers in those years, he said, were not looking for it. The fact is that Girl O’s mother was telling them. She wrote to Kirklees children’s services and she went into their offices while her daughter was going missing week after week and coming home drugged.
A council that has been told that by a mother what was happening does not get to say its staff did not know what to look for.
I believe Peel gave the council that line because the council was paying him to find a reason it was not to blame. Kirklees Council commissioned the review. Mel Meggs, its director of children's services, said the council was truly sorry that the two girls were not protected in the right way. Peel thanked her, and the chief executive Jacqui Gedman, for their commitment to learning the lessons.

THE RAPISTS WENT TO PRISON. THE OFFICIALS WERE NEVER MADE TO ANSWER.
Operation Tendersea, run by West Yorkshire Police, put 20 British Asian men, mainly of Pakistani heritage, through three trials at Leeds Crown Court in 2018 for the rape and abuse of 15 girls, almost all of them White, aged 11 to 17, between 2004 and 2011, and sent them to prison for 257 years between them.
Prison for the rapists suits a council. A criminal trial convicts the men in the dock and nobody else. Nobody from the council or the police was asked in any of those trials what they knew in 2009 and why they did nothing with it. Peel could not ask either, because he read the files the council gave him and had no power to make anyone answer.
The Statutory Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs under Baroness Longfield can make them answer. Under the Inquiries Act 2005 it compels witnesses, and evidence can be taken under oath. Kirklees has been kept out of it.
REFORM WON KIRKLEES ON THE RAPE GANGS AND USED THE POWER TO POST A LETTER
Reform UK became the largest group on Kirklees Council on 7 May 2026, with 29 of its 69 seats, on a promise to end the cover-up of the rape gangs. Sarah Wood, Reform's group leader, now heads a minority administration.

On 14 August 2026, in what she later called the first act of her administration, Wood wrote to Longfield "respectfully" asking that Kirklees be given consideration, "should you consider that doing so would assist the Inquiry", promising full cooperation with any lawful request. She disclosed in the same letter that Longfield's team had already approached the council about a visit to meet survivors before she wrote.
A council leader elected to end a cover-up wrote 969 words asking the inquiry whether investigating her council might be of any assistance to it.
Longfield named Bradford and London on 24 June 2026 and Birmingham and Wales on 30 September 2026. Kirklees did not make the list of towns the national inquiry would investigate. That's what writing a letter does. It does nothing. Wood knows this. Just as she knows what she has to do.
Kirklees Council has never been made to vote on it. No motion demanding inclusion has been put on a full council agenda and no councillor has had to stand up in the chamber and say yes or no. This is the vote Bradford's councillors forced when they requisitioned an extraordinary meeting for 24 June 2026 and Longfield announced Bradford six hours before they sat down. Wood watched that happen next door.
I believe the letter is how a council avoids the vote. The leader gets to tell the town they asked. The councillors are spared putting their names to a demand. Longfield gets to say thank you and name nobody. Reform was elected to end this. Writing a letter instead of calling a vote is cowardice. I don't care who this offends.
Over 10,000 of you will read what I publish for free every day.
That matters to me. I want this investigation to reach far beyond the people who can afford to pay. But producing thirty parts across twenty-eight days takes time, research, interviews, documents and complete independence from the institutions I am investigating.
That independence is funded by paid subscribers. Only a handful of readers upgraded yesterday. That is not enough to sustain work on this scale.
I am not asking those who cannot afford it. Keep reading. Keep sharing. Help this reach the people who need to see it. But if you read this publication every day, value the work and can afford to support it, please support me.
FIVE COUNCILLORS CAN FORCE A MEETING. REFORM HAS TWENTY-NINE.
Any five members of Kirklees Council can requisition an extraordinary meeting of the full council under Schedule 12, paragraph 3 of the Local Government Act 1972. If the mayor refuses to call it, or does not call it within seven days, the five can call it themselves.

Reform has 29 councillors. Wood needs no permission from the Conservatives, from Mawson, or from the Green mayor, Karen Allison. The motion needs to say that Kirklees Council demands its inclusion as a local investigation area of the National Inquiry, so that the officers who held that intelligence in 2009 can be compelled to answer for it.
Then every councillor in Kirklees has to put their name for it or against it or stay away. If a recorded vote is demanded on the day the public gets to see which. That means the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat councillors whose parties each ran the council between 2004 and 2011 while those girls were being raped, and it means Reform, who were elected to end the cover-up and used that mandate to post a letter.
Reform in Kirklees now risk being part of the rape gang cover up.
A mother in Huddersfield called the police week after week, wrote to social services, walked into their offices, and wrote to the Prime Minister, because nobody with power would act. Her daughter was left on a moor above Oldham covered in blood. The council that recorded what was being done to girls like her and filed it has never been made to answer for it in a witness box. Sarah Wood holds the power to call that vote. Girl O, her mother, and the girls Kirklees Council's own review found in its files are owed it.
My name is Raja Miah MBE. For eight years I have exposed how politicians, police and public bodies failed working class White girls who were systematically raped by Pakistani grooming gangs. Together, with the support of the people of Oldham, we forced the Government to concede a National Statutory Inquiry after years of resistance.

Now the harder fight begins.
Andy Burnham is no longer the Mayor of Greater Manchester. He is the Prime Minister. That does not place him beyond scrutiny. If anything, it makes scrutiny more important than ever.
As Mayor, Burnham commissioned a series of Assurance Reviews across Greater Manchester, including one in my hometown of Oldham. They were presented as a search for the truth. They were nothing of the sort. They were cover ups of cover ups that allowed those responsible to escape proper accountability.
Don't take my word for it. Even former Greater Manchester Police detective Maggie Oliver has described what happened in Oldham as 'nothing short of a cover up'.
Despite every effort to stop us, we forced a National Inquiry. Now Burnham and others are attempting to rewrite the history of what happened under their watch.
At present, the inquiry has made no commitment to examine Burnham's own role or the decisions taken during his time as Mayor. That must change before the Oldham investigations begin.
The pressure to protect a serving Prime Minister will be immense. The institutions that failed these girls will have every incentive to avoid putting the country's most powerful politician under oath. Much of the media will once again find reasons to look the other way.
That is why this campaign cannot slow down now.
For too long this has been a one man operation. It needs to become something much bigger. We need the resources to build a genuinely independent investigative organisation with:
- A professional website capable of reaching far larger audiences.
- Video production that takes our investigations to millions more people.
- Research support so no lead is left unexplored.
- Live events to educate, organise and train others.
- The resources to investigate, travel and expose institutional failure wherever it is found.
Over the last 6 months we have secured over 1,250 paid supporters towards our target of 2,000. That is an incredible achievement. Every new supporter strengthens this campaign, increases our voice and makes it harder for those in power to ignore the evidence.
If you believe the truth should be followed wherever it leads, please stand with us.

Should we succeed, politicians will go to prison. Even if there is only the smallest chance of this happening, isn't it worth your support?
