Operation Sherwood: All Bark, No Bite
Andy Burnham promised action. The Greater Manchester Mayor launched Operation Sherwood with great fanfare, positioning it as the definitive response to the systematic abuse of children in Oldham. Yet years later, the most basic questions remain unanswered, and the Mayor's silence grows more deafening by the day.
- How many arrests have been made? Burnham won't say.
- How many charges have been brought? His police force refuses to elaborate.
- How many convictions have been secured? The question hangs in the air, met only by institutional obfuscation.
- Perhaps most tellingly, neither Burnham nor his proven rape clan protecting Greater Manchester Police force will reveal how many survivor cases are actually being investigated through this supposedly groundbreaking operation.
The timing of Operation Sherwood's launch tells its own story. This initiative materialised only after the cover-up of gang rape in Oldham was dragged into the light by those brave enough to expose it. Before that moment of public scrutiny, the authorities had been rather more interested in something called Operation Hexagon - a police operation designed not to pursue those who preyed upon children, but to silence those who dared to speak about it.
The picture grows darker still. Maggie Oliver has made serious allegations that at least one member of these rape gangs was a serving Greater Manchester Police officer. Neither the force nor their Labour Party master have seen fit to address these claims. Their silence speaks volumes about their priorities and their integrity.
This is not incompetence. This is institutional capture. When those charged with protecting children spend their energy pursuing their critics rather than their predators, when basic transparency becomes an impossible ask, when serious allegations about police involvement go unanswered, we are witnessing something far more sinister than bureaucratic failure.

Burnham and his allies may believe they can manipulate public opinion through carefully choreographed operations and media-friendly initiatives. They are mistaken. The world is indeed watching, and what it sees is a system more interested in protecting itself than the children it failed so catastrophically. No amount of rebranding can obscure that fundamental truth. Turning off comments will nt stop what's coming.
Justice, as they say, is coming. The only question is whether it will arrive despite these institutions, or because of their eventual transformation.
