GMP's Operation Sherwood Charade: Why the Arrests Mean Nothing

GMP's Operation Sherwood Charade: Why the Arrests Mean Nothing

Operation Sherwood: GMP's Latest PR Stunt Exposed

On 17th July 2025, Greater Manchester Police issued another self-congratulatory press release under Operation Sherwood. Three men arrested in dawn raids. Ages 33, 51, and 52. Suspected of rape of a child under 16. Alleged offences in Oldham between 2011-2014. Assistant Chief Constable Steph Parker claiming they've "learned from past mistakes" and declaring "these criminals may have thought they had gotten away with it, but we are coming for them."

They want you to believe justice is finally catching up with the abusers who destroyed communities in Oldham.

It's a complete sham. Here's what really happened.

1. The Real Origin Story

Operation Sherwood wasn't born from GMP's moral awakening. It was launched after they repeatedly falsely arrested me, the whistleblower who exposed their failures. Their plan was simple: destroy the messenger, bury the message.

It backfired.

Burnham's Assurance Review was forced to admit what I'd been exposing for years: industrial-scale abuse of little White girls in Oldham. Operation Sherwood only came into existence after that public humiliation. They didn't act for justice. They acted because they had no choice.

2. Zero Results After Years of PR

Operation Sherwood has existed for 3 years now. Dawn raids with photographers. Press releases with bold headlines. Arrest after arrest.

Not one single perpetrator has been convicted through this operation.

Zero charges. Zero convictions. Just theatre.

3. A Decade Too Late

The "dedicated" Major Incident Team they're so proud of? Created in 2021. Over two decades after some of the crimes the police are now being forced to investigate took place. Crimes they first ignored. Crimes they helped cover up. Crimes where they arrested and prosecuted children instead of the men that were gang raping them.

Why the delay? Because GMP spent years hoping this would all go away. They only formed a team to investigate child rape after years of public pressure, media exposure, and whistleblower revelations forced their hand.

4. Declaring Guilt Without Justice

The Assistant Chief Constable calls them "criminals" in the press release. No charges filed. No convictions secured. But they're already declaring guilt.

This isn't justice. It is propaganda. They stage arrests to distract from their institutional failures while undermining due process. Every press release is damage control dressed up as law enforcement.

5. Same Script, Different Day

"Survivors placed their faith in us." "Time is no barrier to justice." "Dedicated resources."

These exact phrases appear in every Operation Sherwood press release. Word for word. Month after month. Real investigations evolve. This is just recycled PR copy to create the illusion of progress where none exists.

6. The Operation They Want You to Forget

Operation Sherwood exists because of the refusal by the people of Oldham to be silenced to the gang rape of children. Do you know what GMP first did? They launched a different police operation. It was called Operation Hexagon. It's purpose was to go after whistleblowers and members of the public that dared campaign against the gang rape of children.

You don't get to rewrite history, GMP.

7. No Oversight, No Accountability

Where are the independent bodies overseeing this operation? Where are the published statistics on arrests, CPS referrals, charging decisions, conviction rates?

They don't exist. No public dashboard. No third-party scrutiny. No accountability mechanisms.

GMP is grading its own homework and calling it transparency. It's self-preservation dressed up as reform.

8. Investigating Themselves Again

This is a police force with a documented history of cover-ups and denial. Now we're supposed to trust them to investigate themselves?

No independent legal oversight. No survivor-led advisory board. No external case reviews. They've learned nothing except better PR techniques.

9. Moving the Goalposts

Arrests in Longsight (Manchester) and Salford for an Oldham investigation. Are these suspects originally from Oldham? Have they relocated? What are the connections to local networks?

They won't tell you. Clarity isn't the goal. Confusion is. Keep the public guessing while they control the narrative.

10. Survivors as Props

The press release mentions survivors but quotes none. No advocacy groups consulted. No survivor-led statements. No details on victim support.

They invoke survivors just enough for moral legitimacy but never enough to give them actual power or platform. Survivors deserve more than being used as human shields for GMP's reputation.

They Haven't Changed

Greater Manchester Police want applause for Operation Sherwood. What I see is a force desperately trying to wash its reputation clean through shallow theatrics.

They failed victims for years. They tried to jail me for exposing them. They demonised an entire town through Operation Hexagon. Now they expect gratitude for investigating crimes they helped cover up.

They haven't changed. They've just gotten better at PR.

I won't applaud. I won't stay silent. I won't forget.

Until arrests become charges.
Until charges become convictions.
Until the institutions that enabled child rape face real consequences.

This fight continues.

I am Raja Miah. Arrest me as many times as you want to. I'm far from finished.

I am Raja Miah. For six years, I led a small team that exposed how politicians protected the rape gangs.

We uncovered the evidence. We proved these were racially motivated crimes. We showed how Labour Party politicians sold children for votes. We exposed every layer of the cover-up. And we forced the national inquiry into the Pakistani Rape Gangs. We got this far because we refused to stay silent. No matter what they did to us.

So now the question is: will you stand with me and help make sure the National Inquiry we have all fought for is not a whitewash?

This isn’t just about justice for the past. It’s about stopping it from ever happening again. If we act together, we can hold every complicit official to account. We can tear down the system that protected them.

And yes, if we push far enough, this government will fall and politicians go to prison.

If there’s even a one-in-a-million chance of achieving that, wouldn’t you take ten seconds to back the campaign that forced this inquiry into existence?
