FROM OLDHAM TO DOWNING STREET: THE GROOMING GANG QUESTIONS ANDY BURNHAM MUST ANSWER

FROM OLDHAM TO DOWNING STREET: THE GROOMING GANG QUESTIONS ANDY BURNHAM MUST ANSWER

FOR 20 YEARS LITTLE WHITE GIRLS WERE GANGED RAPED IN OLDHAM BY PAKISTANI MEN. THE COUNCIL PUT THE GIRLS MOST AT RISK UNDER ONE ROOF AND THE MEN DROVE ROUND IT WAITING FOR THEM. IT GAVE A TAXI LICENCE TO A MAN WHO HAD ABDUCTED AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A 13-YEAR-OLD. THE POLICE LEFT THE LEADER OF THE ROCHDALE RAPE GANG ON THE COUNCIL PAYROLL AFTER A CHILD ABUSE ALLEGATION AGAINST HIM.

ANDY BURNHAM'S REVIEW RECORDED ALL OF IT AND TOLD OLDHAM THERE HAD BEEN NO COVER-UP.

Burnham let the accused write the terms of their own review. Oldham was the first town the National Inquiry named for investigation, and on 24 June 2026 the inquiry confirmed it. On 20 July 2026 Burnham became Prime Minister.

THE ACCUSED WROTE THE TERMS OF THEIR OWN REVIEW

In 2019 we forced their hand. Labour council leader Sean Fielding hired Dr Mark Peel to examine his own council's safeguarding. Peel walked away before he started. Fielding went to Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester and the Police and Crime Commissioner with authority over Greater Manchester Police.

Burnham took Oldham into his own review and let Oldham Council and Greater Manchester Police help write its terms of reference. Nobody could be compelled to testify. No document could be demanded.

In August 2019 the same police force and the same council convened a Gold command, Operation Hexagon, under Assistant Chief Constable Nick Bailey. Police ordinarily convene Gold commands for terror attacks and disasters with bodies in the street. This one was for us. The terms of Burnham's review say the reviewers would not examine any active or ongoing police enquiry, and that the police would support the review by sharing progress on Operation Hexagon.

Hexagon came for me. Police officers were sent to build cases against me that had no foundation. My home was dawn raided. The local press was fed the line that my arrest was connected to a child sexual exploitation investigation, and Pakistani gangsters with links to Labour politicians printed my photograph and home address online. Every charge collapsed.

THEY TURNED A 12-YEAR-OLD AWAY AT THE STATION DOOR, THEN LIED TO HER FOR YEARS

In 2006 a 12-year-old girl walked into Oldham police station to report a sexual assault. She was told to come back when she was not drunk. Men leaving that station put her in their car and raped her, then five men raped her in a house.

Eight men were reported. Two were arrested and one was convicted. Her video interview, the CCTV, the exhibits and the prosecution file were lost.

She came back as a woman and demanded answers. Oldham Council's senior safeguarding officer called her complaint litigious and said too much time had passed. The council told Parliament's Home Affairs Select Committee there was no evidence to support her.

In 2013 the police professional standards branch told her husband there had been no irregularities. In March 2014 the force's own internal review found serious weaknesses in the investigation. Nobody told her.

Burnham's reviewers wrote that these denials showed the council and the police were more concerned with covering up their failures than with the harm done to a child. On the next page they wrote that there was no evidence senior managers or councillors had covered anything up. They described the cover-up and then denied it in the same report.

THE POLICE HID THEIR FILES ON TEN RAPED CHILDREN AND BURNHAM CALLED IT THOROUGH

Greater Manchester Police took 22 months to sign a data agreement with Burnham's reviewers. It covered two subjects: Shabir Ahmed and the 12-year-old turned away at the station. The reviewers examined ten other children. Every one had been exploited and not one had been protected. The police files on all ten were never handed over, and their cases were locked in a confidential appendix the public cannot read.

The reviewers admitted this limited their conclusions and the assurance they could give Burnham. On 22 July 2022 Burnham thanked them for the thorough way they had undertaken their work. The force that hid the files was his.

LABOUR SMEARED US IN PARLIAMENT AND VOTED FOR SILENCE

On 30 June 2022 Jim McMahon, Labour MP for Oldham West and Royton and council leader through the years the review examined, stood in Parliament and attacked me by name. On 13 July Labour council leader Amanda Chadderton moved an amendment striking out the demand for an independent inquiry into her own councillors and officers. She replaced it with "We must move forward" and Labour passed it 32 to 20.

Burnham's answer was Operation Sherwood. By September 2025 it had announced 21 arrests. His police force has never told the public how many of those men have been charged. Guess why?

BURNHAM HELD OFF A REAL INQUIRY FOR SIX YEARS

From 2019 to January 2025 Burnham stood by a review that could not compel a witness and had not seen the police files. Only under extraordinary public pressure did he back an inquiry with the power his own review never had. In June 2025 the government conceded the National Statutory Inquiry, and Oldham was the first town named for it.

Less than four weeks after the inquiry confirmed Oldham, Burnham walked into Downing Street insisting he had acted immediately on the rape gangs. He acted immediately to take control of the review, and then sat on it for six years.

THE PRIME MINISTER MUST ANSWER UNDER OATH

The National Inquiry has the power to compel Andy Burnham. It must use it. He must explain why he called a review thorough when his own police force had hidden its files on ten children from it, who approved Operation Hexagon and what it was told to do, and why he fought against a statutory inquiry until he had no choice.

We must not stop until he is forced to sit in that witness chair.

You know what we are up against. The mainstream media will not touch my work. Institutions I investigate do not volunteer their records. Politicians do not suddenly decide to hold themselves to account.

And yet, despite all of that, we forced the national inquiry. We did that because enough ordinary people refused to go away.

But getting the inquiry was never the end of this campaign. In many ways it was only the beginning. Now we have to watch where it goes, what it investigates, which places it avoids, which witnesses it calls, which records it obtains and whether the same institutions that failed these children are allowed to control the story again.

Nobody else is going to do that work for us. And I cannot do it indefinitely working on my own. That is why I keep talking about 50,000 committed subscribers.

It is not a vanity number. I did not pluck it out of the air. With fifty thousand people with me means when we uncover something important, it does not depend on a newspaper editor, a television producer or an algorithm deciding whether you are allowed to see it.

It gives us reach they cannot easily shut down.

But there is another reason. I need to build a proper backroom operation around this work. At the moment I am investigating, researching, writing, publishing, producing the videos, running the newsletter, dealing with the technology and then starting again. It is unsustainable.

I need people behind me who can take care of the technical and production work so that I can spend my time doing the thing I do best. That is why we have been pushing so hard for new paid subscribers.

If you read my work and want it to continue, I need your help. Sign up for free. There are no paywalls to access any of my work. If you can afford the £3 a month or £30 for the year, please become a paid subscriber.

We forced the inquiry. Now we need the numbers to make sure they cannot control what happens next.

Unfortunately, we are reaching the end of the road where I can continue working this way. The paid subscriptions have stalled. Worse, tens of thousands of people are now reading these articles without even joining the free mailing list. The audience is growing, but the number of people actually standing behind the work is not growing with it.

Over a million people engaged in my content this weekend. Only a small fraction followed up with a subscription to my newsletter This is becoming impossible to sustain.

My name is Raja Miah MBE. For eight years I have exposed how politicians, police and public bodies failed working class White girls who were systematically raped by Pakistani grooming gangs. Together, with the support of the people of Oldham, we forced the Government to concede a National Statutory Inquiry after years of resistance.

Children gang raped, communities betrayed, politicians and police officers involved protected, and you expected to shake your head and carry on as if nothing more can be done because lessons have been learned.

For eight years, I have refused. The police repeatedly dawn raided my home and falsified evidence to try and silence me. The newspapers smeared me. And Pakistani gangsters, under the protection of Labour politicians, followed me home. Islamists openly incited my murder.

Blacklisted by the mainstream media, only your support makes it possible for me to keep exposing the truth those in power want buried.

They sold children for votes and sacrificed entire towns and cities at their altar of multiculturalism. I help you make sense of it. And I help you fight back.

If you can’t commit to a regular subscription, a one-off contribution genuinely helps keep this alive. You can support me using one of these links;

We’re up against a machine, politicians, police, officials, and media, working together to shrink, sanitise, and bury the truth. This work survives because of you.

If you’ve ever shared my posts, learned something, or felt less alone reading them, stand with me. I need your help.
