Chaos in Oldham: Convicted Fraudster Voted Deputy Mayor Amid Walkout and Explosive Allegations
Even by Oldham’s standards, today’s council meeting descended into scenes that were nothing short of unprecedented.
Brian Hobin, a convicted fraudster who once swindled elderly women out of their savings, has been voted in as Deputy Mayor of Oldham Council. His appointment, and the ongoing support for the Pakistani gangster aligned Arooj Shah, led to a mass walkout by opposition councillors in protest.

But the controversy didn’t end there.
During a heated exchange in the chamber, Cllr Hobin was accused of having previously said: “F**k Failsworth, what’s in it for me?” - a shocking remark, especially considering Failsworth is the very ward he represents.
The alleged comment was reportedly made after he was approached to support a vote of no confidence against Council Leader Arooj Shah — a figure backed by Labour despite widely circulated concerns about her links to multiple convicted Pakistani gangsters.
As councillors walked out, Hobin could be heard shouting across the chamber of yet another serious allegation of the cover-up of child abuse involving senior council figures. My sources suggest this involves a recent incident linked to a current serving councillor.
Let’s be clear:
- Oldham’s Deputy Mayor is now a convicted fraudster.
- He’s alleged to have demanded personal gain in exchange for political support
- And he now stands at the centre of an unfolding scandal involving child abuse allegations involving councillors and council officials
Don’t expect the Manchester Evening News or The Oldham Times , both of which operate under the shadow of Labour influence, to report this with any urgency or accuracy. These same outlets have repeatedly failed to publish details of arrests and charges involving gangsters connected to Labour politicians running Oldham Council.
This is not politics as usual. This is systemic rot involving Jim McMahon's and his former council neck deep in the cover up of the gang rape of little White girls. This is confirmed gangland associations involving GM Mayor Andy Burnham's equality lead. This is the council run by the chair of Labour's National Constitutional Committee, yet again involved in allegations involving the cover up of child abuse.
Surely the Home Secretary, YvetteCooper, must now order in the National Crime Agency into Oldham? Especially given how she is also directly incriminated in what is taking place in Oldham?
