Bradford: The Grooming Scandal Too Big to Face

Ten Arrests in Bradford Reveal the Scandal They Don't Want You to See
West Yorkshire Police arrested ten men in Bradford yesterday. The suspects are now aged 49 to 71. They were questioned over child sexual abuse that occurred between 1994 and 1997. Six girls were involved. They were just 13 to 15 years old at the time. All ten men have been released on bail.
You're reading this right. It has taken West Yorkshire Police 28 years to arrest and question these men before promptly releasing them on bail. No doubt with access still to their passports. This isn't progress. This is an insult.

The Same Old Script
West Yorkshire Police trot out their standard press release. "Safeguarding children." "Working with partners." "Taking these matters seriously."
Where was this seriousness in 1994? Where were these partners when children were being raped? They weren't taking it seriously then. They're not taking it seriously now. This is damage control, not justice.
Bradford: The City They Won't Touch
In July 2022, the Government launched the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA). Guess what? Bradford gets ignored.
Why? Because Bradford is too big. Too messy. Too many people knew. Too many institutions failed. Too many politicians turned blind eyes.
They buried Bradford because they're terrified of what they'll find.
Twenty-Eight Years of Betrayal
These crimes happened in the 1990s. The victims are now in their 40s. Some are dead. Suicide. Overdose. The lucky ones just carry the scars.
For decades, they were called liars. "Child prostitutes." Troublemakers. Moved from care home to care home while their abusers walked free. Now, suddenly, the police believe them.
What changed? Not the evidence. The pressure.

How many more victims were created while these men lived free for nearly three decades? How many could have been saved if someone had done their job in 1997?
We'll never know. They made sure of that.
The Cowards in Charge
- Every politician who blocked a Bradford inquiry has blood on their hands.
- Every senior police officer who buried reports.
- Every social worker who ignored disclosures.
- Every council leader who prioritised reputation over children.
They're all complicit. They knew. They always knew.
No National Inquiry, No Justice
IICSA closed its doors. Job done, apparently. Except Bradford was never properly investigated. Huddersfield, Keighley, Halifax - arrests across Yorkshire. The same patterns. The same failures. The same denials.
Still no national reckoning. Still no statutory inquiry with real teeth. They want you to believe these are isolated incidents. Historic cases. Ancient history.
Nonsense.
This is ongoing. This is systematic. This is a national scandal they refuse to confront.
The Real Crime
Ten arrests make headlines. What about the thousands who were never arrested? What about the institutions that enabled them? What about the politicians who covered it up?
They get to keep their pensions. Their honours. Their reputations.
The victims get therapy - if they're lucky.
That's not justice. That's a joke.
Truth or Nothing
Bradford needs to be included in the National Inquiry inquiry. Witnesses need to be compelled. Documents must be seized. There must be no hiding places. Anything less is another betrayal.
So why has Yvette Cooper failed to name Bradford as included in the National Inquiry. Why is Jess Phillips still avoiding accountability? I'll tell you why.
The government won't act because they're scared. The local authorities won't act because they're guilty. The police won't act because they are complicit. Even their own police cars were used to rape children.
So it's down to us.
Keep pushing. Keep demanding. Keep refusing their lies and excuses.
These ten arrests aren't the end of anything. They're proof that we were right all along. And there's so much more they don't want us to see.
