Bondi Today. Brighton Tomorrow?
Ten dead in mass shooting at Jewish community Hanukkah celebration in Sydney
On a warm summer evening in Sydney, families gathered at Bondi Beach to celebrate Hanukkah. Children were painting their faces. Parents chatted over food. A menorah was waiting to be lit against the fading sky.
Then the gunfire started.
At least ten people were shot dead. Dozens more wounded. Videos show gunmen dressed in black firing into families and children. A Jewish celebration turned into a massacre.

But here's what too many politicians and commentators are already trying to dodge. This was not just an attack on Jews. This was an attack on all of us.
The Islamist ideology behind this attack has been bombing, stabbing, and murdering for decades. Music venues, commuters, pedestrians, MPs. It tells its followers that Western democracy must be destroyed and that our freedoms are evil.
Every time we refuse to name these bastards, they get bolder.
The pattern we refuse to see
There is a pattern here. Communities across the UK have been screaming warnings for years. Islamist extremism is organised, ideological, and considers all of us enemies unless we submit to their medieval worldview.
Jews get targeted first because they make easy scapegoats. But the West is next because we represent everything these fanatics want to destroy.
Manchester Arena. London Bridge. Lee Rigby. David Amess. The Islamist ideology behind every single one.
Same ideology. All of us potential victims.
Politicians who still refuse to speak plainly
While families in Sydney ran for their lives, Western politicians were already reaching for their pathetic script. Shocking. Distressing. We must wait for the facts.
Bollocks. We already know the facts. We've known them for over twenty years.
Every open society that ignores Islamist movements operating in its backyard becomes a target. Not just the Australian Jewish community. All of us.
But our leaders always retreat into the same spineless platitudes. Community cohesion. Sensitivity. Not inflaming tensions. They obsess over social media posts instead of hunting down networks, disrupting ideology, and stopping recruitment. They treat Islamist extremism as a public relations problem instead of the life-and-death emergency it actually is.
Communities feel abandoned. Islamist extremists feel emboldened. Atrocities like Bondi become inevitable.
This is about ideology, not religion
Fighting Islamist extremism is not an attack on Muslims. Muslims are often the first victims of this poisonous ideology.
But we've been paralysed by cowards terrified of being called prejudiced. We can't even name the enemy properly.
Islamist gunmen walk into a Jewish festival and start shooting families. Our political class won't say "Islamist" until their lawyers approve the wording. Jewish families have to hire armed security for children's parties. Every warning about Islamist networks gets treated like a media crisis instead of a national emergency.
This is insane.
The choice we face
Bondi is not an isolated nightmare. It is proof that Islamist extremism is not confined to Middle Eastern war zones or MI5 briefings.
It's here and it's organised. If we keep refusing to fight it honestly, more innocent people will be murdered in our streets and at our festivals.
Bondi today. Brighton tomorrow. Unless we finally learn to fight back.
What comes next
We need an honest national conversation about Islamist extremism as the enemy within, not a religious identity. We need heads to roll for the government, police, and intelligence failures that let these networks operate freely.
Our communities have been bearing the brunt of Islamist hatred for decades. We need protection. We all need protection from these murderers.
No more weasel words. No more waiting for the next massacre.
What this means
Bondi was an attack on Jews. But it was also an attack on Australia, on democracy, on all of us who believe children should be able to attend a festival without being gunned down by Islamist fanatics.
If we can't say that clearly, if we can't defend our society with backbone, then we're surrendering everything we are. The question is whether our leaders will finally fight back or keep appeasing murderers.
Never mind wasting time on defining Islamophobia, it is past time we legislated against the jihadists and all they stand for.
